Meraki’s Method was founded in the hopes of being a community, an open discussion and maybe even a resource and tool for role-players and gamers and whomever else might find benefit within our little realm.
We hope to provide discussion, tips and tricks on roleplay, primarily in MMO’s but perhaps in other media’s and games as well, gold along with reviews of games, both virtual and tabletop, let’s plays, run-through’s and guides for gold-making(for the casual player) pet battles and more.
Meraki’s Methods is very much an open form, as the title states this is just my method for things, so I welcome and encourage interaction and discussion over other ways and means. I also want to create a community feel over here and I want to encourage any of you that would like to contribute to the blog to get in touch, be that with a topic idea, a fully blown topic or post you would like to guest host for me, game recommendations or anything else you want to get off your chest.
The player behind Meraki
Meraki: Of Greek Origin the word means to do something with all your heart, with love, with your very soul. To leave something of yourself in all that you do.
Meraki or Meraki22 is my usual tag on games, forums and other user name requiring places that are of a gaming nature. The name is Greek but I am Irish; offline I go by Katie Dembski-Bowden. I’m a 28 year old Irish red-head, I’m an ESTJ, an extrovert with anxiety troubles and all in all it rounds out to a big old bag of crazy. But we get by.
I have two sproglings, a five year old boy and a baby girl that is almost two, and around their perfected time-devouring techniques I have with the use of some excellent planning and manic flying-by-the-seats-of-our-pants skills created this blog alongside my other blog more dedicated to off-screen antics and manage to somewhat keep up with my love for gaming. I have a Vampire The Masquerade tabletop RPG group that meet up fortnightly and online I am usually found on WoW or the Sims.
I have been playing WoW for almost ten years now and for pretty much all of that I have been role-playing. I’m currently over one Argent Dawn EU and running a role-play guild that just turned four years old in April (I’m proud, can you tell?). When I am not role-playing and managing the guild I am a sucker for completion, so I’m often farming everything from titles and tabards to mounts and pets, and of course achievements. And around THAT I like to make some gold!
